As the year draws to a close, KEUR THIOSSANE L ORIGINE invites all community members to a Holiday Traditions and Community Feast celebrating the festive season’s spirit of togetherness, gratitude, and cultural sharing.
Program Overview:
The event opens at 3:00 PM with a display of traditional holiday decorations and storytelling corners where elders recount tales of holiday customs from Senegal and Martinique. Visitors can explore exhibitions of crafts and artifacts linked to festive celebrations, learning about their origins and meanings.
At 4:30 PM, children’s activities begin, including mask-making workshops and traditional holiday games. These activities aim to engage young attendees and pass down cultural practices in a joyful atmosphere.
Dinner will be served from 6:00 PM featuring a communal feast that blends Senegalese and Martinican holiday dishes, prepared by community cooks and volunteers. The meal will be an opportunity for all to share stories and connect over food, reinforcing social bonds.
Throughout the evening, musical performances and dance will entertain guests, highlighting the rich festive traditions of both cultures. The event concludes at 9:00 PM with a collective singing session of holiday songs, fostering a warm and inclusive community spirit.
